wash something down は「飲み物で食べ物を流し込む」という意味の決まった言い方。washだけが down と組んでこの意味になる。
食事の場面で「これには〇〇を合わせるといい」と言うときの定番表現。with のあとに飲み物を置く。
drink it down は不自然ではないが「飲み物を飲み干す」の意味で、食べ物を流し込む場面では使わない。push・put は down と組んでも「食べ物を流し込む」意味にならない。
